This study explores the role of Local Enterprise Development (LED) in promoting community-based conservation, co-management, and sustainable livelihoods in the Save Valley Conservancy, Zimbabwe. A qualitative research approach was employed, involving a literature review, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and observations. The study proposes the Community-Led Conservation and Sustainable Livelihoods (CLCSL) Model, which integrates community-led planning and management, enterprise development, co-management, capacity building, and sustainable livelihoods. The CLCSL Model has the potential to promote sustainable development and conservation in the Save Valley Conservancy, while addressing the needs and concerns of local communities. The study's findings highlight the importance of community involvement, capacity building, and co-management in promoting community-based conservation and sustainable livelihoods. The study recommends the implementation of the CLCSL Model through a phased approach, involving community engagement and capacity building, sustainable livelihoods and conservation initiatives, and scaling up successful initiatives. The model links biodiversity conservation with local economic opportunities through coordinated action among communities, conservation organizations, and government agencies.
